This Minox series presents work in the form of digital collages that are based on photos and experiments using a Minox C camera. The images, and especially the literally “light painted” structures resulting from the experiments with this camera and its miniature film, were scanned using a high-resolution scanner and then superimposed and compiled on the computer leading to these image compositions. The pictures are then printed out using pigment inks on high-quality Hahnemühle torchon paper and sold as unique copies. The sizes vary from 90 x 130 cm to 60 x 90 cm. The prices are 800.- and 580.- EUR.
The freelance communications designer Jan Neuffer on his photo series using the MINOX C:
„The decisive factor behind the series was the fascination that the Minox camera had exerted on me ever since the time I was an apprentice photographer, only at that time, of course, I couldn’t afford one. Technical change has turned these cameras into collector’s items, and last winter I purchased a Minox C on Ebay and started to play around with it. I was really surprised at the excellent results, especially the exceptional structures that develop practically as a side effect of working with this smallest of film formats, boasting a unique and very special character. The image below ‘Fictive Memories’ is from the first photo session taken with the camera. I liked it so much, I did some more and the series gradually took shape.“
