Nissin MG8000 Extreme Flash Wins Prestigious TIPA Award as the Best Portable Lighting System
The Nissin MG8000 Extreme Flash, which uses new levels of high heat resistance to deliver “machine gun” strobe performance, was named “Best Portable Lighting System” of 2013 by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) at their annual conference.
Considered the most coveted photo and imaging awards worldwide, TIPA winners are independently voted for by the General Assembly. Winners are judged to be best of their category based on innovation, use of leading-edge technology, design, ergonomics, ease of use and price-performance ratio.
Designed for the heavy user, where maximum flash output (GN60) is required over a long period of time without overheating or shutting down, the Nissin MG8000 produces more than 1000 continuous emissions with full flash on without overheating – three times more than the general flash. Other features include color and auto rotate display with simple, user-friendly features; and a sub-flash (GN12) below the main flash.
Key to the advantage of unequalled heat resistance is Nissin's use of special heat-resistant materials developed for this unique flash, as well as replacing the general flash tube with a quartz tube to reduce the heat effects significantly. Nissin flash units are distributed in the US exclusively by MINOX USA, who offers an extended two-year warranty if purchased from an authorized dealer.
The MG8000 is designed to support Canon E-TTL and E-TTL II, and Nikon iTTL systems. Combined with an external Nissin PS8 Power Pack, this new flash is blazing fast and maximizes performance. Powered by four AA Ni-MH or lithium batteries, the MG8000 has a fast recycle time. It weighs 14.7 oz. and is 5.8”x3.1”x5”, and includes a USB port. Retail price is $559.
