The mechanical precision of the clockwork inside the Lacher chronometers matches the characteristic features of MINOX GmbH Wetzlar. In the early forties orders were placed for the "Laco" chronometers by the Reich Aviation Ministry and, together with Wempe, IWC and Lange&Söhne Glashütte, the Lacher GmbH was one of the few authorized watchmakers which met the stringent specifications. This reliable precision instrument was used by pilots for navigation purposes and made the name of Lacher GmbH famous. Today, the genuine pieces are very expensive, prestigious items.
