Years of enjoyment with the MINOX BD 15x58 BR

Hi, I’m Deon Dicks, a seasoned hunter and guide from Middle Arm, Newfoundland. I've independently produced two series of hunting DVDs entitled “Huntin on the Rock” and “Newfies in the Yukon”. We've got some great game up here in Canada, arguably some of the best moose in the world right here in my backyard; I've been hunting and guiding all my life and ever since I can remember, I’d dreamed about owning a set of professional binoculars. It only took me about 30 years before I decided to make that investment and purchase a pair of Minox binoculars. I do a lot of long distance viewing, so I went for the MINOX 15x58 series, and what a difference compared to what I’d been using!

Let There Be Light... Observing wildlife in the dark with the MINOX NV 351 Night Vision Device

MINOX, as you may already know, is the company perhaps made most famous by the James Bond spy cameras. Recently, the “Schweizer Jäger” (Swiss Hunter) magazine tested the MINOX NV 351 night-vision monocular. In the following review they bring light into the darkness.

As I seem to remember, in the early 1990s night vision devices were generally offered in the hunting magazines and journals for horrendous prices. They usually had an unpleasant smell of sticky rubber and originated from somewhere in Russia. Since I was unsure of legal implications and health issues were not clear, I decided to leave them well alone.

Gear Review - MINOX HG 10x52

When new hunters begin their long learning adventure into hunting one of their first questions is how much should I spend on binoculars and then most experienced hunters reply "as much as you can afford." Most new hunters do not understand why you would spend as much or more money on binoculars then your rifle but then quickly an epiphoney happens when glassing mountain sides for hours and you have a pounding headache. Another important consideration is that most game activity happens around dawn and dusk in low light conditions, conditions cheap optics do not perform well in. Trust me I have been through this experiment using compact $25 tasco binoculars then trying mid range 8 power and 10 power optics which where definately an improvement.

SoCal Bowhunter from the MINOX Adventure Team - MINOX BL 8x44

Hunting the West involves locating your animal by burning boot rubber and using great optics. Glassing is one of the key components to successfully locating game. I am priveledged to announce I am teaming up with MINOX Sport Optics by joing the MINOX Adventure Team. I am in excellent company with other team members like Mark at Sole Adventure, Dustin at High Country Bowhunter, and Randall at HuntersFix.com.
