Where can I send my MINOX product to be
overhauled ie. repaired?

Please send your MINOX product directly to us in Wetzlar, together with the fully completed repair / complaint form. Here we will check everything thoroughly and prepare a cost estimate. You can then decide if you wish to have it repaired or not. If you do not wish to have your product repaired after all, we will charge 12.00 Euros for the cost estimate (plus VAT and shipping costs).

Can the brightness of the illuminated reticle in the
MINOX riflescope be changed?

MINOX riflescopes (ab Generation ZE5.2)
The illumination electronics can be programmed for 2 different brightness curves. To set the illumination to the darker curve, remove the batterie, turn the illumination adjustment dial to "2" and reinsert the battery. The reticle illumination is now darker throughout the entire adjustment range. To choose the brighter illumination curve, repeat the procedure but turn the dial to "8", and then reinsert the battery.

For ZX5i and ZE5i riflescopes the procedure is identical. However, the adjustment dial must be turned to "3" for the darker curve, and "11" for the brighter curve.

Can MINOX trail cameras be connected to external power sources?

Yes, but please make sure that you do not exceed the maximal Volts, otherwise the camera will get damaged. When the camera is connected to an external power source, the batteries will be bridged. It is not possible to charge the batteries in this way - not even if a solar panel is connected.

Which SIM card can be recommended for use with the DTC 1100?

In Germany, we generally recommend using T-Mobile (as a free network) or the Revierwelt (currently Eseye SIM card). Please note that this must be a telephony-capable data card. Additionally, the SIM card must not have an NFC function (Near Field Communication).

Setup with a T-Mobile SIM card

The setup is done directly on the camera, not via a PC (without Download Tool). In the right tab of the menu, select "Set up network" -> Select network provider. First select the country and then "T-Mobile". Then go one step back to "MINOX Server", confirm with OK in the sub-menu "Activate". Afterwards, all you need to do is enter the email address under "Recipient e-mail". The camera is now set up and will find the network.

Setup with a Revierwelt SIM card

The activation / setup of the Revierwelt SIM card can be done online via the Revierwelt portal. There, an account must first be created and the SIM card activated (the activation code is included with the SIM card). In this case, no manual entry may be made in the right tab of the camera (Network).

Which batteries are recommended?

Rechargeable NiMH batteries are recommended for use with wildlife cameras or night vision devices. Irrespective of cost savings, these rechargeable batteries have the advantage that, in contrast to conventional alkaline-manganese batteries, they also provide power at low outdoor temperatures (below 0° Celsius). It is important for the functionality of the device that all batteries have the same level of charge. Please also make sure that the batteries are charged equally (if indeed batteries are used). The indicated maximum battery life is in reference to an infrequent use of the trail camera during the day. The largest power consumer is the IR flash. Frequent photo and video triggering at night can significantly reduce the battery life. For this reason, it is recommended to select short video sequences (5 or 10 seconds maximum). Please do not use 1.5V alkaline batteries mixed with 1.2 V rechargeable batteries.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Please send an email to our customer service. It is unfortunate, but it often occurs that trail cameras are stolen - for us to reset the password for you, we require a proof of purchase.

The DTC 1100 is not sending photos

It is important that you make sure that the camera is in the SET mode before turning it on. Wait a moment until the camera has found the network. Now switch the camera to ON.

Please check the following:

  • Is the camera in Send mode? If not, this must be activated via SMS.
  • Is the photo in an email spam or junk folder?
  • Perform the software update. You can find this here.
  • Is there enough credit on your SIM card?
  • Has the SIM card been activated? You can find out by asking your SIM card provider.
  • Is the PIN request disabled?
  • Did your camera find the network?
  • Has the camera been configured in accordance with the network? Reset the camera to factory settings and configure it anew.
The camera stops sending even after the credit has been topped up. What do I do?

If the credit of the SIM card is zero or the SIM card has not been used for some time, it is blocked by many providers. Please contact your SIM card provider so that they can check the card and reactivate it if necessary.

How do I navigate in the menu of the MINOX NVD 650 night vision device?

By pressing and holding the image brightness button (2 seconds) you will enter a small setup menu. Here you can set photo resolution, video resolution, date, backlight and USB standard. In the setup menu, the zoom buttons are used to enter and exit a submenu. Within a menu, you can switch from one menu item to the next by using the IR button. The recording button is used to confirm your setting.

With the IR button, you can navigate downwards. With the "-" button, or alternatively the "REC" button, you can choose a menu item; with the "+" button, you can exit the menu item.

How many Nanometers does the infrared illuminator on the NVD 650 emit?

850 Nanometers. The range of the illuminator is up to 350 meters.

Is it possible to use the NVD 650 with a powerbank?

Yes, a standard powerbank with 5.6 - 6V is suitable. This is connected to the micro USB port of the NVD 650.

Can an external IR illuminator be used with the NVD 650?

An additional external IR illuminator (not a MINOX accessory) can be mounted on the Picatinny rail by means of an appropriate mounting. A direct connection to the device is not possible.


Is it possible to have my MINOX 8x11 | 35mm cameras repaired?

Unfortunately, due to lack of replacement parts, we can no longer repair 8x11 | 35mm cameras.


The PX 27 batteries contain quicksilver and are hazardous for the environment. For this reason these batteries are no longer sold. MINOX has developed an adapter for use with the SR 43 batteries (Powerpack 8x11). These batteries are sold in most countries and can be acquired at nearly every photo shop. The MINOX Powerpack 8x11 can be acquired at your local photo dealer.

I no longer have my user's manual. Where can I get a replacement?

What is the difference between the MINOX GT-X and MINOX GT-S?

The MINOX GT-X is the successor of the MINOX GT-S and has a dark grey finish where the MINOX GT-S has a soft silver finish and is especially robust. Both cameras have a dx encoding for an automatically read of the film speed.

What is the difference between the MINOX GT and MINOX ML?

Compared to MINOX GT, the MINOX ML has an automatic program, a LED display in the viewfinder as well as a light meter memory. The lenses of both cameras are the same. Production of the MINOX ML was discontinued in 1995.

What is the difference between the MINOX GT-E and MINOX GT-E new?

The MINOX GT-E new has a snapshot setting as well as a new finish.

I sent my camera/my binoculars to your address to be overhauled/repaired. How can I find out the status of the repair? / When is the repair finished? / When will I receive my cost estimate? / Has my camera/my binocular already been sent?
